Joxfield Live Exploration 2017
At the beginning of July 2017, Joxfield did their "Live Exploration 2" in Bråna, Dalsland, that is, an exploration of whether we would be able to present our music in a live situation in a way that we ourselves could be satisfied with. Janne had a sound construction, a pattern called "Crackle" that we used as a basis. There were a number of different variations on the basic theme played but with large variations as, as usual, we were easily bored by one-sided repetition. Everything was recorded and in 2021 we cut together 6 good moments from the recordings and released the album "Live Joxfield Vol. 1".
Over the years there have been a couple more Live Explorations, but we are not a live band yet. But having just turned 70, we plan to do our first world tour in ten years from now, so if you want to book us, be quick, we work slowly.
"Live Joxfield Vol. 1" can be listened to here https://tincanmusic.bandcamp.com/album/live-joxfield-vol-1

Today's Pick: Live Joxfield Vol. 1
Monday, February 19, 2024
What's up?
Hi There!
We're entering the 19th year of Joxfield & Tin Can Music activities so maybe a decent question is: What's Up?
The last three years has been very busy with tons of releases by Joxfield, Etherwink & Larwott, The Global Researchers, Henry Etherwink, JANNE (JNNE), etc, etc. New music and not so new music, but all previously unreleased has been presented.
If anything new will happen during 2024 and what that could be we don't know yet. But never say never, sometimes things just pop up from nowhere, so always be alert.
And next year is our 20th anniversary... whatever that mean...?
Meanwhile, don't hesitate to listen to our music and visit our Bandcamp site.

(Our December 2023 release "Stupet" is still a heck of a good album!)

Sanity Check (feat. Geoff Leigh & Håkan Almkvist) (Early Edited Version)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYvQ-fIVNLg&list=OLAK5uy_mQgpkjGShmwNCEkbAMdADyEYx1pcH6Qs4&index=26
Some beautiful music on a Saturday.
"Sanity Check" was originally an improvisation that Janne and I recorded in Kolpebo in the fall of 2007. Then we took the song home, structured it a bit, added something and sent it over to Geoff Leigh, who played the flute, and Håkan Almkvist, who added the bass, sitar, tambura and percussion. The so-called original version (which does not have the flute) ended up on "Numbers & Letters", this early edited version appeared 10 years later on "Abstract & Concrete - The Mystery Of Numbers & Letters Revealed".
If you want to hear a lot more music from this time, you can go here:

(And the label that wants to release a mega-box with 7-8 LPs from these recordings... well, just knock on the door!)

Joxfield - Coming To An End - Out now!
A selection of songs spanning over strict psychedelic music, soundscapes, drones, repetetive patterns and even a piece of dystropic blues. All you can expect and all you need from this weird little duo.
The making of it has been a process over some years. The release of it has been postponed again and again because there was always something that came inbetween; new music, new directions, new albums, new releases. But now, finally, it's here.

Released February 3, 2023
